Inbound parcel tracking: TRAXsuite, QTrak and SQBX

Inbound parcel tracking, or accountable mail receiving, is the software that answers the question of where a package is in seconds. A package is scanned on arrival using the carrier's own barcode, the recipient is identified and notified, and the delivery is recorded with a signature, a photo or a locker scan. Nothing is lost, and every question has an audit trail.

We sell three systems. TRAXsuite is FP's cloud platform and the one that integrates with FP Smart Lockers. QTrak is FP's simpler app-based system, with ID-card scanning and unlimited users and devices. SQBX is a campus-scale platform for universities that also need delivery routes, purchasing integration and a self-service portal.

TRAXsuite

Track, monitor and deliver safely.

TRAXsuite is a cloud-based inbound parcel tracking solution that lets you define, notify, track, manage, search and report on every incoming parcel. Scan the existing postal barcode and TRAXsuite identifies the user on the shipping label and their preferred delivery method, sends a pre-drafted or custom notification, and then records the delivery: to the recipient with a digital signature on the mobile app, to an assigned location with a photo or a scan of a TRAX location QR code, or to a bank of smart lockers picked up with a PIN.

Every scan is a searchable touchpoint (tracking number, sender, carrier, recipient, status, type and dates), with dashboards and downloadable reports. Subscriptions come in three tiers, Asset, Parcel and Parcel Pro. Parcel Pro adds bundling several parcels into one notification and one locker slot, mobile profiles, scheduled import of expected parcels through the API, and automatic recipient sync with Azure AD. Add-on modules cover asset handling, letter notification and custom organization labels.

Key features

  • Scan the carrier's existing barcode; no relabeling
  • Automatic recipient identification and notification, pre-drafted or custom
  • Three proofs of delivery: e-signature, location photo or QR scan, locker PIN or QR
  • Searchable touchpoints, dashboards and downloadable reports
  • Asset, Parcel and Parcel Pro subscription tiers
  • Parcel Pro: bundling, mobile profiles, expected-parcel import, Azure AD sync
  • Add-ons: Asset Handling, Letter Notification, custom labels, Azure single sign-on
  • Mobile app for iOS and Android; desktop runs in any browser; optional Zebra scanners and label printer

QTrak

Never lose a package again.

QTrak turns the camera on an iPhone, iPad or Android device into a high-speed scanner that captures carrier tracking information as packages arrive. Download the app and you are running in under a minute, with unlimited users on unlimited devices. At delivery the device becomes the signature pad, recording who received the package, who delivered it, and when, and QTrak emails or texts the recipient. Attempted deliveries are logged the same way.

The cloud software gives end-to-end digital chain of custody from any internet-connected device, with reports showing each package's progress from dock or front desk to recipient. For a busy pickup counter, the Pro Scanner adds a swipe-action ID card reader. QTrak also tracks assets: equipment, computers, vehicles and documents checked in and out to a person or location. FP positions it for colleges, hotels and conference centers, co-working spaces, property managers and mailrooms of any size.

Key features

  • Phone or tablet camera as the scanner; app on iOS and Android
  • Unlimited users on unlimited devices
  • Digital signature capture with deliverer, recipient, date and time
  • Customizable email and text notifications, including attempted deliveries
  • ID card scanning; Pro Scanner with swipe card reader for busy queues
  • Cloud reporting from any internet-connected device
  • Asset check-in and check-out
  • QTrak Package Lockers with kiosk, notifications and single-use access codes for campuses

GPS Software Solutions

SQBX

Full campus tracking, from the loading dock to the bookstore.

SQBX is a campus-scale tracking platform from GPS Software Solutions. It tracks internal packages, inbound and outbound shipping, fixed assets, purchase-order receipts, intercampus mail and print jobs across central receiving, mail services, student housing, the warehouse, the library and the bookstore. Faculty, staff and students see the status of their own packages in a portal instead of calling the mailroom.

It is built for how a campus actually runs: delivery handhelds are plotted on a map in real time against barcoded mail stops; first, second and final pickup reminders go out by text or email on a schedule; single sign-on uses campus credentials; and modules add purchase-order reconciliation, electronic ship requests, desktop shipping with rate shopping against your contracted carrier rates, and locker integration.

Key features

  • Inbound, outbound, intercampus and asset tracking in one platform
  • Self-service portal for faculty, staff and students
  • Scheduled pickup reminders by text and email
  • GPS mapping of delivery handhelds and route reporting
  • Single sign-on (InCommon member) and purchase-order integration
  • Rugged commercial Android devices or bring-your-own iOS and Android
  • Locker integrations and electronic ship requests

Which one

  • You are installing FP Smart Lockers, or want tiered subscriptions, Azure AD sync and letter notification: TRAXsuite.
  • You want to be scanning today from the phones you already own, with ID-card pickup at a counter: QTrak.
  • You run a university with delivery routes, purchase orders, print jobs and thousands of recipients: SQBX.
  • Not sure: tell us the daily package count and who the recipients are, and we will say which.

How a tracked delivery works

The package is scanned on arrival using the carrier's barcode. The software matches the name on the label to a recipient, assigns the delivery method, and notifies them. The package goes to a desk, a mail stop or a locker, and the handoff is recorded with a signature, a photo or a locker scan. From then on any question about that package is a search rather than a hunt, and the report at month end lists every one.

Questions we get asked

Do I need special scanners?

Not to start. TRAXsuite and QTrak both use the camera on a phone or tablet. TRAXsuite offers Zebra handheld and screen scanners and a Zebra label printer as options; QTrak's Pro Scanner adds a swipe card reader for ID cards. SQBX supports rugged commercial Android devices as well as your own phones.

Does it tell the recipient their package is here?

Yes. All three send email or text notifications when a package is received and when it is delivered or ready for pickup. TRAXsuite lets you choose a pre-drafted message or write your own; SQBX can schedule first, second and final reminders.

Can it track things that are not packages?

Yes. TRAXsuite's Asset Handling module and QTrak's asset tracking check equipment, computers, vehicles and documents in and out to a person or location. TRAXsuite's Letter Notification module tells people when they have mail waiting, so letters stop being abandoned in the mailroom.

Tell us what comes through your door

How many packages a day, who they are for, and where they wait now. We will size a locker bank or a tracking system to that, quote it, and install it.
