Insert Ready Dispatch: your carrier rates and ours, side by side on every package

Every package your business ships is a chance to save money or a chance to overpay. Insert Ready Dispatch (IRD) puts your own UPS, FedEx and USPS rates next to IRD's discounted rates on every shipment, so you pick the best carrier, service and price for each package.

Load your negotiated rates and Dispatch adds IRD's. IRD says you save up to 20 percent on shipments where its rate wins; when your own rate is better, you simply use it. You keep your carriers, there is no long-term contract, and your current operation keeps running while it is set up.

Automated Systems, Inc. holds the agreement with Insert Ready. The multi-carrier version on this page is available from Automated Mailroom or from Automated Systems, Inc. The PC Postage version shown briefly in the video, which prints USPS postage like a postage meter, is available only from Automated Systems, Inc.

Insert Ready Dispatch

Your carriers. IRD rates. Your decision.

All you need is a Windows PC and a web browser. Add a thermal label printer and a shipping scale if you want them, or print labels as PDFs on the printer you already have; Dispatch works with most USB thermal printers and scales. With compatible hardware, the optional Halo Auto DIM system measures each box and sends its dimensions to Dispatch, so nobody measures by hand.

Orders flow in from hundreds of eCommerce marketplaces, and APIs and webhooks pass data to and from your order management system. Batch processing, CASS address verification, pickup scheduling, tracking emails and custom reports are built in. Start with one shipper and grow to as many users and locations as you need, with management seeing the whole operation.

Built for the way you ship

  • Law firms: protect document workflows while comparing cost, delivery date and service level on every shipment, and charge each one back to the client or matter.
  • Pharmacies: match the service level to each patient's time-sensitive needs, comparing UPS, FedEx, USPS and local carriers at once.

  • Warehouses: bring orders in from marketplace plugins, then pick the right carrier, service and rate, yours or IRD's.

Getting started

  1. Rate comparison. Share a few recent carrier invoices. IRD models your potential savings, shipment by shipment, free and with no obligation.
  2. Workflow review. We review your carriers, shipping stations and any eCommerce, ERP or order management connections.
  3. Configuration. Dispatch is set up around the way your team ships today.
  4. Ship and choose. Compare your rate with IRD's on every package, then pick the carrier and service you prefer.

Questions we get asked

Do we have to give up our own carrier accounts?

No. You load your own UPS, FedEx and USPS rates, and Dispatch shows them next to IRD's rates on every package. When your rate is better, you use it. There is no long-term contract.

What equipment do we need?

A Windows PC and a web browser. A thermal label printer and a shipping scale are optional; Dispatch works with most USB models, or you can print labels as PDFs on your office printer.

How much will we save?

IRD's own figure is up to 20 percent on shipments where its rate wins. Your figure comes from the free rate comparison: send a few recent carrier invoices and IRD models the savings, shipment by shipment.
