Postmark 1170 RapidColor high-speed color printing systems

The Standard Pro is the complete solution for flat pieces. Its 12-inch feeder runs envelopes, direct mailers and coasters from 3 to 13.4 inches wide and 3 to 14 inches long, up to 1/8 inch thick, with a hopper that holds up to 500 envelopes. The delivery conveyor shingles printed pieces neatly, starts and stops its belt on a sensor, and has a fast-forward switch to gather a run.

It sits on a 72 × 30 inch heavy-duty workbench with a non-slip mat, storage shelf and four locking casters, with the monitor and keyboard on a mount. Hand-fed options extend what it prints beyond the feeder's range.

The Package Pro is the configuration for packaging: flat boxes, pre-constructed boxes, paper bags, mailers and coasters up to 10 inches in height. A feed table with three adjustable magnetic paper stops and repositionable magnetic guides aligns boxes for registration, accommodates substrates up to 20 × 22 inches with a stack up to 4 inches, and adjusts ±30°. A delivery tray catches the finished pieces.

Like the other Pro systems it includes the computer package with Xitron Navigator, monitor and keyboard mount, and a 72 × 30 inch workbench on locking casters. Variable data printing is available with additional software.

The Napkin Pro adds a dedicated napkin feeder: continuous top-load, bottom vacuum feed, up to 100 napkins at a time, a sensor that eliminates double sheets and removable suction plugs to tune the vacuum. It prints full-bleed on paper napkins and on envelopes through the same feeder, and hand-feeds bubble mailers, cardboard boxes and other substrates up to 10 inches tall.

The feeder handles napkins from 3 × 5 to 10 × 15 inches, two- or three-ply, at up to 3,200 an hour. Linen napkins do not run through the feeder and must be hand-fed. The system sits on a 48 × 30 inch workbench with the computer package, delivery tray and 38.5-inch conveyor.

The Core is the 1170 RapidColor printer and computer package on the workbench without a feeder or delivery unit. It is for a shop that already has a conveyor, or that wants to integrate the printer into existing equipment. Postmark's overview also lists a Mobile configuration for use with an existing conveyor and a Printer-only configuration for complete integration.

Every configuration shares the same printhead, print width, ink, RIP software and up to 10 inches of height adjustment, so a Core can be built out into a Standard, Package or Napkin Pro later by adding the feeder and delivery options.
