PostBase i3

PostBase i3 is FP's small-office meter: a compact, whisper-quiet machine that prints up to 35 letters a minute, weighs on its own scale and downloads postage over your network. It brings the same IMI-compliant PostBase technology as the larger models to an office that mails a few hundred pieces a month.

Its sibling, the PostBase i2, is the same machine with a lighter scale and fewer accounts for the smallest offices. Both are semi-automatic: you present each envelope and the meter feeds it, prints and releases it.

PostBase i3 brings FP's proven PostBase IMI technology to small businesses and organizations that need an affordable meter. It is a fully digital, whisper-quiet workhorse with an award-winning design, and it runs at up to 35 letters a minute with semi-automatic feeding and a manual sealer.

The adjustable 4.3-inch color touchscreen is icon-driven, so anyone in the office can run it. It rates up to 15 lb on the integrated scale, tracks up to 200 cost accounts, keeps four quick-select rate shortcuts, and downloads postage and USPS rate updates over your LAN. A high-yield dual ink cartridge system keeps the cost per imprint low, and on-screen animations walk you through replacing it.

Paired with FP Parcel Shipping, it is also a package station: compare USPS rates, print IMpb-compliant tracking labels on letter-size paper or a 4 x 6 thermal label printer, and track shipments from a dashboard.

PostBase i2 is the entry point to the PostBase line. It shares the i3's chassis, touchscreen, manual sealer and IMI-compliant meter, and it prints up to 25 letters a minute.

The integrated scale rates up to 5 lb, and five departmental accounts track postage by department, printed from the machine itself. It connects to your LAN for postage and rate downloads, and it works with FP Parcel Shipping for packages.

Connected to MyFP

Both meters connect to FP's MyFP customer portal over your LAN. That is where you refill postage at any hour, manage cost accounts and users, open a support request and reach FP's digital products, including FP Parcel Shipping.

Need automatic feeding?

This family also includes the PostBase Insight Auto: an automatic envelope feeder, an exclusive SealCheck sealer that confirms each flap went through, 85 letters a minute, up to 200 cost accounts and 20 rate shortcuts. What is the difference between the PostBase i2 and the i3?

They are the same semi-automatic machine with different limits. The i2 prints up to 25 letters a minute, rates up to 5 lb on its scale and tracks five departmental accounts. The i3 prints up to 35 a minute, rates up to 15 lb and tracks up to 200 cost accounts. Both are USPS IMI-compliant and connect over your LAN.

Does it need a phone line?

No. Postage downloads, USPS rate updates and software updates all come over a standard Ethernet connection to your network.

Can I ship packages with it?

Yes, through FP Parcel Shipping, the online application that pairs with every PostBase. It carries the full set of USPS rates with an optional multi-carrier add-on, prints IMpb-compliant tracking labels on plain letter paper or a 4 x 6 thermal printer, and tracks shipments with email notifications. An external scale is optional.
